The Caribbean Experience in Connecticut

My capstone project shares the Caribbean side of my state. Through interviewing Caribbean Americans, researching Caribbean organizations, and learning more about the history of immigration, I was able to explore the experience of individuals & the Caribbean immigrant experience as a whole.

Political Polarization

Over the last five years, the political sphere in the United States has become increasingly polarized. My Capstone project aims to explore the causes, extent, and negative effects of this divide. I examined the global roots of polarization, the effect of the media on polarization, how psychological factors contribute to polarization, and much more.

Causes and Consequences of the Great Leap Forward

The Great Leap Forward was a Chinese government-led campaign from 1959 to 1961 that increased human efforts to strive for rapid industrialization and increase in grain yields. I looked into the global and domestic political and economic causes that motivated the campaign and the impacts of mass mobilization and collectivization on people's psyche and China's education system.

Ethical Archeological Research & Addressing the Past

Today's archeological studies are conducted in a significantly more ethical manner than those of just 100 years ago. However, this does not mean that the field is free from ethical dilemmas. The academic community must recognize and address the problematic presentation of their predecessors research, and work to conduct present and future studies within a more modern moral framework.

The Rise of Anti-Semitism Due to Social Media

Over the last decade, anti-Semitism has risen at an astounding rate, unseen since the 1960's. By exploring the history of anti-Semitism and what it looks like today, I was able to discover that the development of social media has created accessibility to hate speech and anti-Semitism in an entirely new form.

The Effects of Humanistic Buddhism on Chinese Buddhism

I examined what cultural and societal influences Buddhism has as it spreads all over the world. I identified those impacts by researching the historical circumstances and cultural traditions of Buddhism. I also produced a video that talks about the development of Humanistic Buddhism.

The NCAA and Its Effect on Student-Athlete Rights

I looked at the history of the NCAA, its policies, and the ongoing controversies concerning players' name,  image, and likeness (NIL) rights. During this Capstone. I looked at the current battle in the courts regarding the NCAA, and where these cases were possibly going in the future.

Global Esports

As eSports continues growing popularity worldwide, it is essential to understand the history of the electronic gaming industry. It is also important to analyze the role of digital ecosystems that have allowed eSports to become a billion-dollar industry. Importantly, where is the future of eSports?

Environmental Restoration

The factors for a successful environmental restoration are different for every ecosystem, however there are some elements which are constant trait throughout every attempted revitalization effort. My Capstone Project explores what these traits are, and how they impact a recovering ecosystem.

Women in Engineering

I researched the impact society, culture, & academic learning environments have on women pursuing engineering careers. I wanted to understand why some countries have a higher representation of women in engineering than in others. I also looked into solutions that can be implemented to address the gender disparity & support women in engineering. I created a website geared towards aspiring women engineers.

Vegetarianism, Personal Health, and Climate Change

With the worlds temperature, water level, and CO2 emissions raising, finding ways to lower our carbon footprint will become a pressing issue in our society. My capstone focuses on the effects a vegetarian diet has on our bodies and the environment.

The Use of Robotics in the Medical Field

With the increasing automatization of the modern world, robotics have spread to many different fields, changing them as we know it. One noteworthy field is the medical field, which has the potential to change dramatically with the use of robotics. My capstone project aims to inform how robotics and automatization is impacting the medical field, its risks and limitations, as well as the way it will be moving forward.

The Effects and Impact of the Industrial Revolution

Through research and hands on experience I have conducted an in depth critical evaluation of the industrial revolution. I have examined the impact it has had on the production landscape and mapped those effects onto workers rights and other issues. I also spent two weeks learning the pre-Industrial production method of blacksmithing to help inform my claims.
