Watkinson School's Global Studies Diploma Program Mission: To develop in students the power to be knowledgeable and effective world citizens -- acting locally and globally -- and to foster respect for diverse people and cultures.

Learn more about the events we attend, the specific program expectations for juniors and seniors, and the curriculum in the senior year Global Studies Seminar. Upon the successful completion of this work, students receive a second Global Studies diploma at Graduation. Check out our flyer.

STEP 1: MEETING WITH DR. O'BRIEN

February 5-March 4

Email Dr. O'Brien to set up a time to talk about your interests, experiences, and how earning a Global Studies Program Diploma can help you become a more engaged global citizen.

STEP 3: ESSAY PROMPTS

Thoughtfully respond to the essay prompts given to you at your meeting with Dr. O'Brien (Step 1). You will be asked about your interest in the Global Studies program, your thoughts on the most pressing global issues, the global studies themes that interest you, and the extracurricular work you do or will do that relates to global studies.

Application Deadline Monday, April 1st

STEP 2: TEACHER RECS

At your meeting with Dr. O'Brien, you will receive the link to a teacher recommendation form. Please send to two teachers (one a Humanities teacher from 9th or 10th grade) who can speak to your academic ability, collaboration skills, and willingness to engage with new ideas.

ACCEPTANCE LETTERS WILL BE SENT BY APRIL 15TH
