Service
We work with our local Hartford community and people around the world to make connections and provide assistance to projects they are leading.
Kiva
Using suggestions from our summer reading A Path Appears and the objectives of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, students select microloans to finance through Kiva.
These loans allow people to make a real change in their lives and communities. As the money is repaid, the next year’s group of Global Studies students will loan money to new projects.
Currently, we are funding these projects:
-
Peter’s biogas project in Kenya
-
Elizabeth’s farming project in Tanzania
-
Dilbara’s dairy farming in Kyrgyzstan
